William Smart

William Smart was born in Dysart, Fife, in 1915, the son of William and Elizabeth Smart. He worked for Commercial Bank of Scotland at its Kennoway branch. 

 

During the Second World War Smart left the bank to join the army, becoming a Company Quartermaster Sergeant in the Royal Army Service Corps. He died in Iraq on 12 September 1942. He was 27 years old.
