John Roy Frederick Teague was born in Croydon on 10 September 1924, the son of Albert Roy and Elizabeth Mary Teague. He joined the temporary wartime staff of Westminster Bank at its London Stockwell branch in June 1941.

 

In March 1943 he left the bank to join the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He went to the United States of America for his training, gaining his wings in June 1944. While in training, he ran a dance band for the entertainment of his fellow recruits. Pilot Officer (Pilot) Teague died in a flying accident in England on 7 November 1944. He was 20 years old.
