Hugh Trevor Williams was born on 20 February 1919, the son of Mary and William John Williams. He joined the staff of District Bank as a junior at its Liverpool branch in June 1936. He was promoted to clerk at Liverpool Waterloo branch in 1938 and moved to Hoylake branch in May 1939.

 

In November 1939 Williams left the bank to go on war service, joining the Royal Welch Fusiliers. By 1944 he was a Lieutenant, on active service in Normandy. He was killed there on 17 July 1944. He was 25 years old.
