Ronald Webber was born in Croydon, Surrey, on 10 May 1920, the son of Arthur George Webber and his wife Grace. He was educated at Whitgift Middle School, and worked for Williams Deacon's Bank. 

 

During the Second World War Webber left his job at the bank's London office to go on military service, becoming a Leading Aircraftman in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He died of typhus in Egypt on 26 April 1943. He was 22 years old. 

 

Ronald Webber is commemorated on a bank war memorial at Hardman Boulevard office, Manchester.
