Thomas Henry Walker was born on 22 May 1915, the son of Ralph and Frances Walker. In June 1934 he went to work for The National Bank as a probationer at its Dublin College Green branch. He was promoted to assistant in January 1937 before moving to Belfast Falls Road branch in August 1937 and then to Belfast High Street branch in November 1938. 

 

In August 1941 Walker left the bank to go on war service, joining the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. By 1945 he held the rank of Lieutenant and was serving in Burma. He was killed in action there on 24 February 1945. He was 29 years old.

 

Thomas Walker is commemorated on a bank war memorial at 250 Bishopsgate, London.
