Wilfred Selwyn Pryce Williams was born on 4 July 1917, the son of Laura and David Pryce Williams. He was educated at Llanwest County School and spoke Welsh. He joined the staff of District Bank as a junior at its Colwyn Bay branch in June 1936. He moved to Llandudno branch in 1938.

 

In November 1939 Williams left the bank to go on war service, joining the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Flying Officer Williams was killed on an operational flight over Germany on 23 September 1943. He was 26 years old. The inscription on his gravestone reads 'In everloving memory of my very dearest son. 'Until the day dawn.' Mamma'.
