Thomas Taylor Drummond was born in Crieff in about July 1895, the son of William and Isabella Drummond. In May 1913, when he was 17 years old, he went to work for Commercial Bank of Scotland as apprentice at its Crieff branch.

 

In December 1915 Drummond joined the army, serving as a Private in the Royal Scots (Lothian Regiment). He was killed in action in Palestine on 21 December 1917. He was 22 years old.

 

Thomas Drummond is commemorated on a bank war memorial at 36 St Andrew Square, Edinburgh.
