John Hodges

John Percy Hodges was born on 28 May 1895, the son of John and Elizabeth Kate Hodges. In October 1912 he went to work for Williams Deacon's Bank at its London Birchin Lane office, and later at its London Brompton & Earl's Court branch.

 

During the First World War Hodges left the bank to join the army, and by 1918 he was a Second Lieutenant in the King's Own Scottish Borderers. He was killed in action on the Western Front on 25 April 1918. He was 22 years old.
