Malcolm Keith was born in Glasgow in 1892, the son of John and Marjory Keith. In April 1910 he went to work for Commercial Bank of Scotland.

 

During the First World War Keith left his job at the bank's Glasgow Sauchiehall Street branch to join the army, and by 1917 he was a Second Lieutenant in the East Yorkshire Regiment, on active service on the Western Front. He died on 26 September 1917 of wounds received in action. He was 24 years old.

 

Malcolm Keith is commemorated on a bank war memorial at 36 St Andrew Square, Edinburgh.
