James Norman Robinson

James Norman Robinson was born in Preston in 1896, the son of John Hebson Robinson and his wife Elizabeth. He worked for Williams Deacon's Bank, initially at its Bolton branch and later at Preston branch.

 

In January 1916 Robinson left the bank to go on military service. By 1918 he was a Second Lieutenant in the Lancashire Fusiliers, on active service on the Western Front. He was killed in action there on 22 July 1918. He was 22 years old.
