Reginald Leslie Williams was born in 1881, the son Edward Bagaley Williams and his wife Edith. In 1897 he went to work for Williams Deacon's Bank.

 

During the First World War Williams left his job at the bank's Rotherham branch to go on military service. Lance Corporal Reginald Leslie Williams of the Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby Regiment) died on 26 September 1915 of wounds received in action. He was 33 years old.
